Which airless paint sprayers can spray flooring epoxy paints?
An airless sprayer can apply certain epoxy floor primers and coatings, but many flooring systems are designed for roller, squeegee or trowel application. Confirm the approved method for the exact product before choosing a machine.
Identify the flooring system first
Ask the coating supplier whether the product is a penetrating primer, thin-film coating, high-build system, self-levelling epoxy or aggregate-filled material. These categories are not interchangeable. Check airless suitability, tip range, application pressure, solvent compatibility and the target wet- and dry-film thickness.
Do not assume that because an epoxy sprays well on steel, it is appropriate to spray a different epoxy onto a concrete floor. Texture, slip resistance, broadcast aggregate and subsequent back-rolling can be part of the specified flooring system.
Which DINO-POWER machines should be considered?
The original article described X51L and DP-6337iB in flooring demonstrations. A demonstration with one formulation is not evidence of compatibility with all floor epoxies. Review the current DP-6337iB equipment specification and obtain confirmation for your actual material and hose arrangement before ordering.
Useful pump selection depends on output while spraying, supported orifice, seals, filters and cleaning requirements. Compare those details with the broader epoxy airless sprayer selection guide.
normally we recommend our client to set the pressure of X51L to the maximum 227bar, while using a spraying nozzle at size 523# or 525#
but if you want to spray high solid thick flooring epoxy, you need to change to bigger tip size or higher pressure, then we recommend you to change to hydraulic pump or pneumatic airless pump. or talk to our sales team by email dp@dpairless.com and we’ll set the X81L PCB board with another Higher pressure program for your application.
Prepare the concrete to the coating specification
Confirm moisture limits, surface profile, strength, contamination and repair requirements. Do not use a generic acid-etching instruction for every floor; the specified system may require mechanical preparation and testing. Resolve oil contamination and weak substrate before applying the primer.
Mix and schedule around pot life
- Use the exact component ratio and mixing method. Include any induction time.
- Record batch time and material temperature. A warmer batch may have less usable time.
- Size batches so material can be applied and the equipment cleaned before curing.
- Keep application, recoat and return-to-service requirements separate; they are different intervals.
Check the application rather than relying on appearance
Make an approved trial area. Monitor coverage and film thickness, maintain a wet edge where specified and perform back-rolling or aggregate broadcasting at the specified stage. A shiny, even-looking film does not prove correct thickness, cure or adhesion.
Mask walls and adjacent equipment, control access and follow the safety data sheet for ventilation and personal protection. Clean with the approved fluid before mixed epoxy cures in the pump, hose or gun.
