Pneumatic Abrasive Blasting for Surface Preparation

The SB500 is a portable 200L sandblast pot for abrasive cleaning, corrosion-control work and surface preparation before coating. Its wheeled frame helps position the equipment around workshop and industrial maintenance jobs.

• 200L pressure pot: a 0.2 m³ vessel for loading abrasive media.
• Pneumatic control: nozzle-side control for starting and stopping the blasting process.
• Adjustable abrasive flow: the metering valve allows media delivery to be adjusted to the work.
• Boron carbide nozzle: specified with an 8 mm bore.
• 20m blasting hose: 25 mm inner diameter and 40 mm outer diameter.
• Industrial valves and piping: arranged for compressed-air and abrasive handling.

Suitable media include steel shot, steel grit, aluminium oxide, glass beads, stainless-steel shot and garnet. Choose media and particle size to suit the substrate, required surface profile and equipment configuration.

For a blast-and-paint workflow, the SB500 can be ordered together with the X51L electric airless sprayer or K701 pneumatic airless sprayer. Select the blasting media and coating equipment against the project specification.

Operating Requirements

• Provide clean, dry compressed air with sufficient volume to maintain the required nozzle pressure.
• The pop-up valve requires at least 50 psi (approximately 3.5 bar) to close and pressurise the pot. The specified operating range is 4–7 bar.
• Use a functioning remote-control system that interrupts blasting if the operator loses control of the nozzle.
• Provide suitable breathing air and use appropriate blasting clothing, boots, eye and hearing protection.
• Use abrasive manufactured for blasting and appropriate to the application.
• The pot remains pressurised until depressurised. Fully depressurise it before refilling, opening or maintenance, following the operating instructions.
